"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Update

I spoke to Dad yesterday and he is doing as well as can be expected. He grumbled a bit, which is a good sign. My dad isn't himself unless he is grumbling. :-)

I hope to know more about his prognosis and the options available to us after I talk to Sally tonight. Thanks for the words of support.

I'm glad to hear he's doing OK. I remember what it felt like when my mum got sick nearly two years ago, and I couldn't even leave the country at that point, so yeah, my heart goes out to you.

My your father grumble on, as Led Zeppelin never said. But they might've.

I'd agree grumbling sounds like he's on the mend!

Well, since I'm the one hearing his grumbling, I must add one comment. It was interesting that while he was in the hospital, for the first time in my 42 years, he did EVERYTHING I told him to. He sipped water whenever I told him to, he did his leg exercises the way I instructed him to, he took a nap when I insisted.

So, now, he doesn't listen to me quite so well and I DAMN happy about it. Honestly, a complacent Dad scared me to death!

Now, he's even well enough to tease my mom. I loved if, even though she left in a huff! It was worth it....
